Dr. Meredith Bowen

Dr. Meredith Bowen serves as the Director of Choral Activities, Associate Professor of Music, and Associate Director of the Virginia Governor’s School for the Visual and Performing Arts at Radford University. She conducts three ensembles, teaches choral music education pedagogy classes to undergraduate and graduate students, and mentors emerging conductor-teachers. Bowen works to expand the canon and amplify marginalized voices through publishing historical editions and performance of music by women. Her commitment to inclusive programming and singer-centered pedagogy inspires student engagement and artistic growth. She enjoys an active guest conducting schedule, sings in mirabai – a professional women’s choral ensemble, and serves as President for the Virginia chapter of the American Choral Directors Association. Bowen holds degrees from West Chester University and Michigan State University.

Note: MCDA does not offer refunds in the event the student cannot attend.

For safety reasons, all rehearsals are closed to the public. Only those who are official chaperones or registered members of the conference (including single day registration) are allowed in the rehearsal space. Please help us maintain the safety of our singers by adhering to these requirements.

For liability reasons, members are not supposed to be official chaperones. But in the event that there was no other option, members still need to register for the conference. Thank you for supporting the organization that supports these ensembles!
