Credit Cards may be used on the Opus sight, after all audition materials and information are uploaded click the pay now link.

If paying by check send one check for all students. Include with the check a list of student names and name of sponsoring MCDA member, DO NOT send a check without this information. Make checks payable to MCDA and mail to Jana Fox  5015 Angelia Ct  Jefferson City, MO  65109.                                                             

Checks must be received before students can be placed in a choir.

You must be a current ACDA member and know your ACDA membership # to access the application.  Membership must be current at the time of audition and at the time of performance. 

AUDITION PROCESS: FOR UPLOADS TWO TRACKS--UPLOAD EACH TRACK SEPARATELY

RECORDING INSTRUCTIONS FOR 7/8 AND 9/10: USE TWO SEPARATE TRACKS

1. My Country ‘tis of Thee/America (grades 7/8, 9/10 only): Starting on the pitches listed below, sing the first verse unaccompanied. Accompanied singers will be disqualified.

*For My Country ‘tis of Thee begin on the following pitch for each voice part.

Soprano: A above middle C

Alto: E above middle C

Tenor: A below middle C

Baritone: F below middle C

2. SOLO (grades 7/8, 9/10 only): One to two minutes of an Aria, Art Song, or Folk Song, etc. (with or without accompaniment) that may be suitable for a competition or festival. Limit the piano introduction to no more than 5 seconds. Pop, Gospel, and Contemporary Christian pieces are not acceptable and will result in disqualification

Concert attire is honor choir t-shirt, black pants or skirt, black socks or nylons, and black shoes. Honor Choir t-shirts will be handed out upon arrival.




About the Clinician
Dr. Kiana Williams, Texas Southern University

Dr. Kiana Day-Williams is a dynamic educator, performer, and clinician who seeks to empower students from various backgrounds with a variety of musical styles. A native of Jackson, MS, she holds a Bachelor of Music Education and a Master of Music from Jackson State University. She received a Doctorate of Music Arts degree in Music Education with a minor in Choral Conducting from the University of Houston.  She currently serves as Director of Choirs and Assistant Professor of Music at Texas Southern University (Houston, TX) where she conducts the TSU University Choir and Concert Chorale.

    Dr. Williams’ teaching career begins as Director of Choral Activities at Forest High School (Jackson, MS) were she rebuilts a struggling choral program that ultimately receives multiple contest awards from 2006-2008. In addition, she created a musical theater curriculum which resulted in an invitation to the Fine Arts Magnet from the district. Upon moving to Houston, TX, Williams served as Lecturer of Music in the Moores School of Music at the University of Houston from 2008-2017, teaching courses for both music and non-majors. She taught at G. W. Carver High School for Technology, Engineering, and Performing Arts in Aldine ISD for the 2013-14 school year. In this position, Women’s Varisty Choir receiving superior ratings at UIL. Dr. Williams also served as Music Director and Band Leader for the school’s 2014 production of In The Heights, which received the 2014 Tommy Tune Award for Best Orchestra. 

    Dr. Williams has served in numerous roles outside of secondary education including Education Program Manager at the Houston Grand Opera, Community Music Director at Theater Under the Stars (TUTS), and Director of Fine Arts at Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church.
