Prelude AwardThis award will be presented annually to one outstanding member of the Missouri Choral Directors Association in accordance with the following criteria: - Nominee is a current member of MCDA in 3rd, 4th or 5th years of contractual experience as a full-time choral director
- Demonstrates success in the teaching and performance of choral music in Missouri
- Demonstrates a professional demeanor in interactions with music colleagues
- Demonstrates potential as an exemplary professional with an extended career in choral music
- Demonstrates a spirit of service and involvement through active participation in MCDA and choral music in general
Selection Procedures:Nominations will be solicited from the general membership of MCDA: - Nominees must be current members of MCDA in 3rd, 4th or 5th years of contractual experience as a full-time choral director
- Nominations must include a brief biographical sketch of the nominee along with a letter of nomination from a current member of MCDA and a letter of support from an administrator or supervisor recommending the nominee;
- The elected members of the Executive Board of the Missouri Choral Directors Association shall serve as the selection committee reviewing the nominees;
- Elected Members of the MCDA Executive Board are ineligible to be nominated for this award;
- Nominations may be resubmitted for the duration of the eligibility period (3-5 years), but are not automatically carried forward for future consideration.
